Plastic Bead Door Curtains

There are an amazing variety of plastic beaded door curtains available. The variety of colors and shapes boggle the mind, one of the things that make a collectible fun to collect.

So, what do you look for? Well, start with the shapes that are available. These include: flowers, crosses, stars, moons, disks, circle with open centers, smiley faces, astro circles (the open center is offset), drops, disco ball, squares, cubes, circles with an impressed yin and yang symbol, dogs, mushrooms, butterflies, leaves, butterflies, dolphins, drops, hearts, frogs, the card suits, angels, seashells, flamingos, etc. In some cases, two shapes will be combines, like stars and moons or graduated sizes of the same shape (drops). These shapes are all made with the string embedded in the shape, and with a gap between shapes. The length of the gap varies, some being close together and some further apart. The embedded string means that cutting the string does make all the shapes fall off, but it also means that fixing a broken string is not possible unless you glue two shapes together, and the glued string will hang differently from the other strings.

The color schemes that these shapes are available are also an amazing list. The door beads, which can also be hung in a window, may have all the strings of shapes in one color. That color may be plain or iridescent, or glow in the dark, or glow with a black-light. The string may be a different color from the shapes formed on it. The string and shapes may rainbow from top to bottom, or each string be one color but form a rainbow from one side to the other. Some curtains only use two colors and vary from top to bottom or side to side between those two colors. Sometimes the color is placed in a swag formation on the beads, which may also define the swag by the graduation of the size of the shape, usually a drop.

The colors available include the basic rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. There are also pink and hot pink curtains, and white, black and brown. All the metallic colors are present: silver and gold. Clear beads are also available. The plastic shapes may be opaque or transparent, and with or without an iridescent coating.

Finally, there are plastic beaded door curtains based on cartoon characters like Dora the Explorer ™ and Spongebob Squarepants ™. M & Ms ™ would make great plastic beaded cor curtains. Someone needs to talk to Hersheys.
