A Wire Rack For Easy Storage

When you have a storage need in the kitchen or family room, there is often a wire rack available to solve that need. A wire rack to hold bottles of wine, or other similarly sized and shaped bottles, can be placed on the counter, bar or hung on the wall. They usually hold ten to twelve bottles, and keep the contents close at hand while storing them in the approved cork-down position.

For CDs or DVDs, there are a number of wire storage racks made to hold these slippery little devils. Some mount on the wall and make a storage solution into a decorating detail. There is a lizard shaped wire rack for CDs I have wanted for a long time. The bordering lizard shape turns a simple functional wire rack into something to smile about, even empty. Image it full of the jewel packs with the end spine colors making a pattern on the lizards back. Too cool.

There are wire racks to hold magazines neatly until someone gets around to reading them. These usually have a built-in handle so the rack can be easily moved to the place of most convenience for placing the new magazines into it or where reading is to take place. You can have a wire magazine rack in many rooms at very little expense.

Wire rack shelving is a good solution for storage in many areas. It may not go with the Chippendale furniture in the parlor, but just about anywhere else it can provide sturdy storage or display options that highlight the materials on the shelves while the wire racks themselves disappear into the background. Heavy-duty wire rack shelving is a good choice for the garage, basement or workroom.

Wire racks are also made to hold bicycles from the ceiling joists in the garage or outbuilding. Wire racks can be attached to your vehicle to carry outdoor equipment like skis or tents, or to carry extra fuel for off-roading. Wire racks can be found to hold the garden hose up out of the way while it is not in use. Wire racks are useful for dividing long shelves into cubby-like spaces and to control the sliding of the items on the shelf. Wire racks can hold the pot and pan lids in your kitchen neatly, and provide a second level on your kitchen counters or cabinet shelves. Wire racks are available to add a bin under a wall shelf where there is a little unused space. Wire racks are available for many purposes.

Wire racks may be painted black, to resemble wrought iron, coated with enamel or plastic to give it color and a protective coat to prevent rusting, or be made from non-rusting or coated wire left silver or gold. The surface color often is tied to where the wire racks will be used. White is common for kitchen and bathroom candidates, while silver or black predominate for family room racks. Frequently garage candidates are colored gray or some utilitarian color to emphasize their sturdy usefulness.

The nest time you have a storage need, look around for wire racks that can solve the problem. I bet you will find several that will not only take care of the problem, but will look good while doing so. Wire racks, anywhere, anytime, useful additions to your household.
